The gap between the teeth

Tooth gaps or diastema is a condition that is recognized by a gap of more than 0.5 millimeters between two teeth.
Gaps between teeth do not always need to be corrected – some people accept their spaced teeth as part of their charm. If they do not compromise the function of the bite, there is no need to close the space.
However, in many cases, gaps between teeth can be a functional or aesthetic problem. Such gaps are caused by genetic predispositions, the loss of certain teeth, or teeth that are small in relation to the jaw. In these cases, orthodontic therapy is necessary.
Can you close gaps between teeth at Ortolook?
Of course. Not only will we bring the teeth closer together as if they were never apart, but we will also pay special attention to how to fit them into a row with the teeth below or above them.
This is the most demanding part of the job. It is a real art to position the tooth correctly so that it does not wear or get damaged by the upper or lower teeth during chewing. That is why we pay great attention to this. The result is beautiful – but also long-term healthy teeth.
